Field Notes es una serie fonográfica/fotográfica que toma forma a partir de registros sonoros e imágenes recogidas para la elaboración de diversos proyectos en los que hemos participado durante los últimos años (instalaciones, paseos sonoros geolocalizados, etc).

Las grabaciones de este primer trabajo fueron realizadas en Atenas, entre 2012 y 2013, y se han organizado en torno a momentos improvisados en una tienda de campanas, cencerros y cascabeles; un material que sirve como eje vertebrador para articular una serie de sonidos encontrados en el deambular por la ciudad helénica, que van desde el leve soplido del viento en las hojas de los árboles de Anafiótica, al despertar del mercado, pasando por los cantos de las sierras mecánicas.

En las grabaciones se juega con la escala y con planos de tomas que se suceden sin mayor criterio que el del propio devenir sonoro. Del mismo modo las imágenes muestran visiones parciales de una deriva a través de la ciudad que escapa de estereotipos para adentrarse en una agitada, revuelta y reivindicativa sociedad griega en plena crisis económica.

Estos registros se realizaron con el fin de generar material para la creación de un paseo sonoro geolocalizado y un mapa sonoro en el marco del proyecto Einander zuhören – Stadt-(Ge)Schichten comisariado por Geert Vermeire y en el que colaboran los colectivos Escoitar.org, Milena Principle, WIT Urban Team y Fo̱nés.

Field Notes is a phonographic/photographic series that takes shape from sound recordings and images collected for the creation of diverse projects in which we have participated over the last few years (installations, geolocated sound walks...)

This first project recordings were made at Athena between 2012 and 2013, and have been organized around improvised moments in a bell, cowbell, and sleigh bell shop; items that work as an axis to articulate a series of sounds found while wandering through the Hellenic city, that extend from the subtle sound of the wind through the trees in Anafiotika to the wakening of the local market, and the lullabies of power saws.

The recordings play around the scale and shots of scenes that articulate with no other criteria but that of the sound progression. Likewise, the images show partial visions of a stroll through the city that escapes stereotypes to go deep into an agitated, turbulent, and vindicating Greek society in the height of an economic crisis.

These recordings were made with the aim to generate material for the creation of a sound geolocated walk and a sound map within the project Einander zuhören – Stadt-(Ge)Schichten commissioned by Geert Vermeire and in collaboration with the collectives Escoitar.org, Milena Principle, WIT Urban Team and Fo̱nés.
